We don't collect your data.
Privacy policy. Effective October 21, 2026. Applies to the Cason app for iPhone and this website.
The short version: Cason has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. What you put in Cason stays on your iPhone. We, the developer, never receive it and couldn't read it if we wanted to.
Who we are
Cason is made by Christopher Gates, an independent developer in Georgia, USA. You can reach him at support@askcason.com.
What you put in Cason
Tasks, bills, subscriptions, income, documents and scans, insurance policies, household and medical details, health records, contacts, notes, vehicles, appliances and your home's history are saved only in Cason's private storage on your iPhone. iOS encrypts that storage with a key tied to your passcode and seals it whenever your iPhone is locked (Apple calls this "Complete" data protection). You can also lock Cason itself with Face ID or your passcode, and hide ID and policy numbers until you unlock them.
Cason never sends your records to us or to anyone else. There is no Cason server, sign-in or cloud account.
Features that read information on your iPhone
- Money-leak finder. When you open a bank or card statement file, Cason reads it on your iPhone to find repeating charges. It doesn't keep the file. Only the charges you choose to add are saved, as bills and subscriptions.
- Scans and Smart Scan. Photos, scans and PDFs you add are stored in Cason's private storage. Text on them is read on your iPhone with Apple's built-in text recognition.
- Asking Cason. Questions you type or say are answered on your iPhone from your records. They aren't saved after you close the Ask screen, and they aren't sent anywhere. Answers read aloud use your iPhone's built-in voices.
- Voice. While the microphone button is on, speech is turned into text on your iPhone. If your iPhone can't do that on the device for your language, Cason says so and doesn't send audio anywhere.
- Calendar. If you turn on "Show today's calendar," Cason reads today's events on your iPhone to show them in your brief. Events aren't copied or saved.
- Apple Intelligence. On iPhones that support it, Premium can use Apple's on-device language model to word your brief, understand quick-add text and answer questions about your records. This runs on your iPhone. Cason doesn't send your data to Apple's servers or to any AI company.
- Reports you make. The Emergency Binder, home report and health summaries are PDFs made on your iPhone. They go only where you send them.
- Reminders and widgets. Notifications are scheduled on your iPhone. Widgets get a short summary (titles and dates of the next few items) that stays on your iPhone. You can hide details in notifications and on Lock Screen widgets in Cason's settings.
Backups
- iCloud Backup. If your iPhone backs up to iCloud, iOS includes Cason's data in that backup the same way it does for your other apps. Apple stores it in your iCloud account. We have no access to it. Turn on Advanced Data Protection in your iCloud settings to make that backup end-to-end encrypted, or turn off "Include in iCloud Backup" in Cason's Privacy center to leave Cason out of it.
- Locked backup files. You can save a backup file protected with a password you choose (AES-256-GCM encryption with a key derived from your password). You decide where it goes. We can't open it and can't recover a forgotten password.
- Spreadsheet export. CSV exports are not encrypted. Keep them somewhere private.
Purchases
Cason Premium is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment, and we never see your payment details, name or Apple ID. Your iPhone checks with Apple whether Premium is active. Apple gives developers sales totals that don't identify you.
Crash reports
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings (Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. They describe where the app stopped working and don't contain your records. Cason has no analytics or crash-reporting code of its own.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to reply. We'll delete the conversation if you ask.
This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics or tracking, and it loads nothing from other companies. The demos on the home page run in your browser, and the page's security policy stops it from sending anything you type or open. GitHub, which hosts the site, may keep standard web server logs. Links to other companies' sites, such as a subscription's cancellation page, are covered by their own privacy policies.
Children
Cason is made for adults managing a household. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
Your choices
Everything Cason holds is on your iPhone and under your control. You can edit or delete any record, export everything, or erase all of it in Settings › Your data › Erase everything. Deleting the app also deletes its data from your iPhone (copies in your own backups follow Apple's backup rules).
Because we don't hold personal information, there's nothing for us to access, correct, sell or delete on our side. We have never sold or shared personal information and never will.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. A change that let any of your data leave your iPhone would be explained in the app before it took effect, and would be optional.
